We went all out on this project. Presenting a grand interlocking grazing table set, specially commissioned for a high-end Park City resort. The concept originated from the head chef, aiming to accommodate large parties without the need to clear the entire table for refreshments. With all the pieces being removable, a server can effortlessly take one piece to the kitchen for a quick refresh and bring it back to the party.
The chef's vision was shared with me, and I brought it to life in the workshop by crafting these five impressive boards. Each board seamlessly interconnects with the next. The top-left board is crafted from cherry wood, boasting its unmistakable orange hue. Moving to the top-right, we have hard maple with captivating figuring, a common feature in maple that enhances its visual appeal. The bottom-left piece is crafted from 100% African padauk, chosen to inject a vibrant pop of color into the ensemble. The deep crimson red of padauk creates a striking contrast against the cherry and hickory boards. Speaking of hickory, the bottom-right board is made from this wood, and I took great care to emphasize the interplay between the sapwood and heartwood, lending a dramatic effect to the piece. And finally, the centerpiece. I opted for walnut, meticulously aligning the sapwood in all the boards to create the illusion of a single, seamless piece of wood. The way the sapwood graces this board is truly captivating.
I trust you will find as much joy in these boards as I did in bringing them to life for my client.
